Each week, we think we've promised the impossible, that we won't be able to deliver a free, cool event for every day of the week. But here we are again, disarming you of that handy excuse of being broke and giving you five reasons to go out. And this week has it all: comedy, balls, nightlife, film and music.
Monday: Set forth from the loins of Second City and launched into fame on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Jeff Garlin now turns his attention to weight loss and saving the Earth. He'll read from his new book, My Footprint, at Books & Books.
Tuesday: Sure, Portland and Brooklyn are all about an ironic game of bocce but here in Miami, we play the classier Pétanque with a glass of Clicquot in hand.
Wednesdays: The Pyramid Club party, where we've previously spotted Mr. Belding himself, reopens at Mokai. You know the deal: Enter for free but pay for drinks.
Thursday: See the only SoFla screening of Music By Prudence
at the Betsy Hotel. It won an Oscar last night in what everyone is calling a "Kayne moment." Prudence, a disabled Zimbabwean singer, and the
film's director Roger Ross Williams will be in attendance. Space is
limited, so RSVP to [email protected].
Friday: Take your dancing outside with a free performance by fusionists Bachaco at downtown's Bayfront Park.
