Local students are just in their third week of classes for the year, but one local 12-year-old has already found himself expelled and his family is none to pleased. So as punishment, the boy's mother made him stand outside alongside a road holding a sign touting the fact.

According to WSVN, the sign reads "Here we are on the 12th day of school, and I've already been expelled because of my behavior." He was holding the sign on the corner of Northwest 104th Street and Seventh Avenue and was accompanied by his sister and mother.

The boy was expelled from hitting a girl.

This isn't the first time a Miami student has been punished in such a way. Last year a father made his 7th grade son hold a sign on the side of the road declaring his bad grades. Similar events have occurred elsewhere in Florida, but child development experts are always doubtful that such a strategy is effective.
