Support the independent voice of Miami and help keep the future of New Times free.
Apparently, The Miami Herald thinks all people of Middle Eastern decent look alike. While running a story yesterday on University of Miami President Donna Shalala they accidentally ran a photo of what appears to be would-be-Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad. Shahzad, Shalala. Shalala, Shahzad. Practically the same person. Never mind that one's a terrorist and the other won the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Shalala, the former Secretary of Health and Human Services under Bill Clinton, is leading a committee advocating that certain nurses with advance degrees should be able to practice some medicine without oversight from a doctor. The Herald put a Kaiser Health News wire service story about the panel on page A4 on Wednesday, but accidentally ran a picture of Faisal Shahzad. He's the guy who just got handed a life sentence for planning to blow up a car bomb in New York City's Time Square.
