Just over a year ago, the inaugural post of Mugshots Friday introduced the world to a Miami man, arrested for soliciting a prostitute, who appeared to be missing half of the top of his head. He was regularly arrested for petty crimes, and one officer wrote "Half a Head" under distinguishing characteristics in a police report.
We learned a bit about the man known in his neighborhood as "Halfy". When he's arrested for bizarre crimes such as stealing songbirds from a woman's porch or continually harassing a store-keeper, the charges are invariably dropped, likely due to his condition. We tried to locate him tell his own story, and spoke to members of his family, but never found him.
Apparently, all we had to do is hang around a river where he likes to smoke weed.
In a video uploaded to YouTube this month by some aspiring Diane Sawyer, he told the story of the drugged-up car accident that left him disfigured: "That's why it's no good, drinking and driving-- or drugness and driving-- no good, kids."
Then the man known as "Halfy" continued puffing a blunt as he talked about Barack Obama growing weed in the White House and his proclivity for elephant chicks who take out his breath.
Goes without saying: We're working on contacting the man who filmed the video. Turns out, there's an entire viral video genre of the dude smoking doobies by the river.
