Marian Searchwell may have wound up behind bars for domestic violence, but frankly it's hard to blame her for her actions. The 56-year-old resident of Vero Beach was at the home she shared with her husband of 5 months when the man showed up around 10 p.m. on a Thursday night and asked her to please leave the master bedroom so he could use the bed with another woman.
Apparently Searchwell's short-lived marriage hadn't been going too well. Her husband told police that they had been separated for the past month, but still shared a home. Regardless, it probably wasn't a good idea to bring home another woman under those circumstances quite so soon.
The police report obtained by TCPalm.com doesn't specifically state what the man wanted to use the bed for with the other woman, but we doubt they were just going to read spooky stories under the blankets with a flashlight.
Searchwell refused to leave the bed, and the husband then picked her up. That's when Searchwell allegedly grabbed his shirt and neck. She left numerous abrasions on the side of his neck. Police were called, and Searchwell was hauled off to jail on domestic battery charges.
No word on whether or not the man and his lady friend then used the bed.
