The National Republican Congressional Committee, in support of Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, has mounted an attack campaign against Raul Martinez centered on this "Wheel of Corruption" TV spot. The direct mail aspect of the campaign elaborates on the charges by pointing out that Martinez's children have had government jobs, yet fails to point to out how there is corruption involved (click the image above to enlarge).
Martinez's daughter, for example, is an assistant city attorney for Hialeah Gardens. A different city than the one her father was Mayor of, and we're pretty sure, you know, you have to go to law school and all that first. So it's not like she just walked into the job with out being qualified.
Well the Martinez campaign has taken this as a direct attack against his family, and is set to release ads straightening the allegations out starring his children. It's smart in that it highlights Martinez's status as a proud father, while calling into question the accuracy of the attack ads and painting them as personal smears.

The transcript is behind the cut.
"My name is Raul Martinez, Jr. and this is my sister Aida. We know that political campaigns can be tough. But what is wrong in any campaign is for a politician to attack a candidate’s family. Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his Republican friends have attacked us personally. The mailer you have received is out of line and untrue. Congressman, your ambition for power at any cost has taken you down a road of lies. Show some respect to our community and stop these lies."
