You should never drink and drive, but tomorrow if you find yourself saying things like, "No, I had only two -- I think I'm OK to drive," it might be an especially good time just to take a cab or catch a ride with a friend instead.

A large-scale DUI checkpoint is planned for five hours in downtown Miami tomorrow night.

From 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Miami Police will set be set up at NE First Avenue and Tenth Street, in the Park West area where popular nightspots like Club Space, the Corner, and E11even are located. In addition, other patrol cars will be in the general downtown area conducting a "DUI saturation patrol."

In addition to specifically checking for DUI, cops say they'll have no tolerance for anyone breaking any traffic laws, including aggressive driving.

People not wearing seat belts will also be ticketed.

"Miami Police officers will be on alert to apprehend motorists who are driving impaired and ticket those who are unbuckled," the news release reads.

Of course, some traffic delays in the area should be expected, so in addition to driving sober, it may be best to avoid the area.
