Monday, I went out to the White Room (1306 N Miami Ave., Miami) for its latest weekly party Exposure, a new venture by the same people who have brought you Spiderpussy for the last, oh, I don’t know how many years but plenty. Confined to the small red room at the front, the space was packed, which lead to the infernal temperature inside and the cloud of cigarette smoke that irritated my eyes. If that sounds like fun, have at it.

A Monday night is a pretty difficult night to get people to go out, but if they can keep bringing in people, there could finally be a suitable bar party to replace Damaged, one of my all-time favorite weeklies held every Wednesday the Mark (now closed).

But now comes the burning question: what to do this weekend? Get ready, because it’s going to be a busy one.

Tonight, the Vagabond (30 NE 14th St., Miami) hosts the IHEARTCOMIX mix CD release party, sponsored by youthful car manufacturer Scion. Frankie Chan, Radioclit and Drop the Lime will all be on hand to make sure the beats are plentiful. These names should be enough to get you off your ass and to 14th Street. The event is free, but you need to RSVP at www.scion.com/avrelease.

Saturday night, you have one of two options, Laidback Luke at Mansion (1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) or Nic Fanciulli at the Vagabond. Both are excellent house DJs that are going to provide plenty of heavy beats. Question boils down to where do you want to go, South Beach or downtown? Mega-club or a mid-size venue? Decisions. However, if you are interested in checking Fanciulli out, we are giving a pair of tickets away.

There is also the preview of Heathrow Lounge (681 Washington Ave., Miami Beach), located on the seedy strip of Washington Avenue between 8th and 5th Street. Heathrow promises to be an upscale venue with the heart of a downtown club. I haven’t checked out the place myself personally, but what I know is that it consists of four rooms, each with its own different atmosphere and décor. It also touting itself as a place where “diversity rules.” In South Beach? I’ll believe it when I see it. Check out local favorites Midas, Contra and Johnny the Boy kick off the party at the new venue.
