The X-Rated Run Now Lets Girls Run for Free (As Long As They Bring a Date)

Porn stars, dominatrixes, something called a "G-String Crawl" -- these are not things most people would consider enjoying alongside their committed romantic partner.

But the X-Rated Run that's launching in Florida this March wants to change that. In fact, organizers are offering a "girls run free" discount to couples participating together, so that everybody, single or not, can feel the (sexy, kinky, dirty) love.

"Any girlfriend, fiancé or wife can run for free with a participation purchase from their boyfriend, fiancé or husband," the run announced yesterday.

So women run free as long as they bring a man? That's pretty heteronormative language for a sex-positive event. But a representative of the run tells New Times that the rules apply to couples of all sorts -- lesbian, transgender, you name it. If you call yourself a girl and you're bringing a date, you won't have to bring your own registration fee.

The discounts are partly an attempt to spread the word about the run's new date, which has been moved to March 22, 2014 at Mud Muckers Park in Bunnell, Florida. (The run was originally scheduled for Feb. 22.)

"One of our focuses is on couples participating in this incredible event," says organizer and founder Kelly Perez in a statement. "We found this the perfect time to get couples who are on the fence about participating a chance to sign up and have their partner run for free."

The "girls run free" promotion also seems like a pretty easy way to get more women to participate. Bars have been drawing crowds of girls with "chicks drink free" specials since forever, after all. We can just imagine the stereotypical horny boyfriends of the world using this as their excuse on their less adventurous girlfriends: "C'mon, honey. It'll be fun. What do you have to lose?"
