Fans of Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, get excited. A new film with both of your favorites is coming up soon.
Ride Along, which released early in the year to critical dismissal but some solid audience praise, is getting a sequel. And best of all for folks excited for this in the city, as well as all you aspiring actors out there: it's shooting in Miami.
Ride Along the first is the buddy-cop movie that brought you Cube and Hart as a cop and security guard going out on patrol in Atlanta. Ride Along 2 will be filming at least part of its tale in our city, though representatives for the film told New Times they couldn't release any information about the movie, other than that it will reunite Cube and Hart.
But there is good news: they're on the hunt for actors of all sorts. The filmmakers might be keeping mum on the details of the film, but they're very open about the kind of extras they're seeking in Miami this July.
The open casting call takes place from 1 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at the Hollywood Rotary Club (2349 Taylor Street, Hollywood). Filmmakers will be looking for:
"Ages 18 & up, all ethnicities. Looking for low rider cars & trucks, VIP club goer looks, bouncers, bikini models, Little Havana types, surfers, and more. Bikini ladies, wear your bikinis underneath your sundress!"
That's a pretty broad mix of actor types. Maybe they're setting the whole film down here? Dare to dream.
Those interested should come dressed for the part they want, and to sweeten the deal, all positions are paid. Anyone who can't make the open call also has the option to submit an email to MarinellaHume Casting through the email [email protected] with their name, contact number, email address, and three clear pictures of themselves (headshot, waist-up & full body). That means no hats, sunglasses, or side-shots; if you want the role, they've got to be able to see you.
