Every good music fan is looking forward to III Points, right? How could you not? The chance to rep your town, explore your own streets, get treated to some good food and fun times, and get down to funky rhythms is exactly what we want to do every weekend.
Of course, some of the highest-profile shows are ticketed events, but most of the stuff going down in the day is free and open to the public. There's even a bunch of nonmusic, technology, film and art stuff to go, but we dug through the musically themed activations and picked these great attractions as a guide. If you ever find yourself standing around wondering where to go next, try one of these five for size.

Um, hello, reliving the best parts of childhood. It was a tough choice between this and the freeze dance with Goodroid, but we figured musical chairs just felt right. Not to mention, music from New York City's the Deep will provide the sexiest soundtrack to the elementary-era favorite you've ever experienced. The chairs themselves will be art pieces, designed by TWINHAUS, and winners from the handful of rounds will get tickets to the Point Blank performance and DFA bbq.

The III Points people are being secretive about the performances, but anything Young Turks puts its name on has to be good. That's the label reppin' the XX, SBTRKT, John Talabot, and more, so you know they know good music. And we've been told Gigi's will supply the scrumptious barbecue bites, which is almost enough reason on its own to check out the party.

Can you tell we are excited for this? It's like all we can talk about. Both of these artists are phenomenal live, and the pair combined are sure to deliver a set we won't soon stop reliving. It's going down in the awesome indoor soundstage you probably didn't even realize Wynwood had. This giant room was used to help film scenes from the recent Iron Man and Transformers movies. It's made for great acoustics, and the scene will be set with accompanying projections and visualizations for a totally immersive music and art experience.

RBMA Couch Session with James Murphy, Saturday, October 5, 5 to 7 p.m., at Bardot, 3456 N. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-576-5570; bardotmiami.com. Admission is free.
James Murphy, tireless music addict and former frontman of LCD Soundsystem, is an icon of his generation. It's not often you get the chance to hear him speak, and the III Points crew will be getting deep into his head at this rare couch session discussion. Tucked into Bardot's intimate living room, this is the kind of moment real music geeks don't want to miss.

After you hear the man speak, come back to the soundstage to hear him throw down. Opening sets from the sensual party-starter Jacques Greene and the legendary Jamie XX of the XX crew will have you primed, ready and well-educated before the master professor even hits the decks. Plus, it's the capping engagement of the whole III Points shindig, so it has to be a riot. We going out in style.
