Sing us a song, you're the Piano Man.
It's been 20 years since Billy Joel put out a new collection of music. And he's got no plans for "another album of original tunes," he says. Maybe ever.
As Joel recently told the New Yorker: "If I put out an album now, it would probably sell pretty well, because of who I am, but that's no reason to do it. I'd want it to be good. And I've seen artists on that treadmill, putting out albums year after year, and the albums get worse and worse, less and less interesting, and it's, like, maybe you should stop."
Fortunately for his fans, the Piano Man's got no such feelings about the arena circuit.

Over the last couple of years, Joel has made some life changes. He put his $14.75-million Miami Beach mansion on the market. And he just unloaded his Long Island estate too.
At the same time, he's shrugged off his homebody ways and reemerged for a bout of serious touring, including an insanely successful residency at New York City's Madison Square Garden that's sold out for 13 straight months.
Meanwhile, Joel also made his local return this year, with two January shows at Sunrise's BB&T Center. They were his first gigs in Broward County since a string of six concerts at the Hard Rock Live in 2009.
Our sister blog County Grind predicted the Sunrise "show might be one of the last opportunities we have to see the Piano Man in South Florida."
But nope... Yesterday, he announced his first Dade County concert in seven years.
"Billy is going back to Miami!"
