For the past 356 days, the Design District's most devoted boozers and fanatical music lovers have been regularly letting loose at a classy NE 38th Street joint called The Stage, draining goblets of Chivas at the bar, sleeping on the sofas in the parking-lot lounge, and drunkenly two-stepping on the dance floor till it's finally time to call a cab and go home.

That's right, the good times have been rollin' for almost a full year now. And next weekend, the tuneage and party spot will celebrate its anniversary with a four-day birthday bash and music fest.

The Stage's party is set to star Southern neo-soul genius Cody Chesnutt, the Stooges Brass Band from New Orleans, Austin rockers Bright Light Social Hour, and NYC rock crew The London Souls -- not to mention a bunch of the local scene's raddest acts, such as Locos Por Juana, ArtOffical, Los Bastardos Magnificos, and Big Brass Juke.

The Stage One-Year Anniversary Lineup

Indoor Stage VIP Show. With LEBO Live Art Show, The London Souls, Bright Light Social Hour, Stooges Brass Band, and DJ Kitty Glitter. Saturday, November 12. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Day Vent. With Los Bastardos Magnificos, The Wholetones, Albert Castiglia, Big Brass Juke, Moreland & Arbuckle, and DJ Haitian Hillbilly. Sunday, November 13. Doors open at 3 p.m. and tickets cost $5 in advance or $7 at the door.

The Stage officially opened its doors in November 2010 for a string of Miami Music Festival shows, including New Times' own VIP party starring local rock 'n' rollers Teepee, Heartstings, Lil Daggers, and Jays Blues. And over the last 12 months, it's hosted a ton of killer concerts -- late bluesman Eddie Kirkland, Nola's Hot 8 Brass Band, and even September's Sailor Jerry-sponsored blowout with gay San Fran garage crew Hunx and His Punx -- winning the Best of Miami award for New Live Music Venue.

"The Stage has met or exceeded all the goals we had for the first year," enthuses owner Carlos Garcia. "And keep in mind that although we opened for the first time last November, we really didn't become fully operational until this past March.

"We are really hitting our stride now."

The Stage One-Year Anniversary Bash. Thursday, November 10, to Sunday, November 14. The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami. Tickets cost $7 to $20 and weekend passes cost $30. Call 305-576-9577 or visit thestagemiami.com.
