Pitbull's T-Pain-featuring pop-club banger "Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor)" continues to burn up the airwaves, playing on Power 96 approximately every third song, it seems.
But while that track continues to linger in the top 100 of various Billboard song charts, its successor has already arrived.
The recently released "Give Me Everything" is yet another mash-up of virtually genre-less dance sounds, currently ranking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100.
There are Pit's typical lusty Spanglish raps (with an opening-bars product plug for Kodak!), a silky hook sung by Ne-Yo, and synth-based four-four beats courtesy of Dutch house favorite Afrojack. There are also a few sung moments by Nayer. She's billed as a recording artist. Although, she's probably better known for winning Pit's Ms. 305 contest, and appearing on his Rebelution album cover in camouflage body paint.
The official video's now making the digital rounds as well. Directed by Miami-based David Rousseau -- also behind Pit's recent "Bon Bon" and Lil Wayne's "I Am Not a Human Being" -- it's set this time in downtown Los Angeles, at the Alexandria Hotel.
The building, a onetime glamorous meeting spot for celebrities of yore like Clark Gable and Greta Garbo, is now an income-restricted housing tower. Still, its common spaces have largely been renovated to their former glory. And with a few tricks, Rousseau has imbued it again with some Hollywood glamour.
Perez Hilton, with some Miami pride, recently released an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the video. Our favorite deep Pitbull observation from the clip: "Downtown Los Angeles.... It's a long way from Miami, bro." Spoken like a true native.
