There's always tons of talk about III Points' dance music acts, but the annual fest pays serious tribute to Miami's rock scene too.

It's important to give a boost to our local bands, and we here at Crossfade were stoked to catch up with groovy garage rockers Plastic Pinks, whom you may have seen tear the house down at Wynwood's Butcher Shop, alongside the Grey 8s and Shanghai Meow.

We love their hyper energy. It's catchy enough to get stuck in your head, but still raw enough to skin your knees. They call it "rad city sticky pop," and it's something like if the Beatles and Sonic Youth had a long-haired baby.

This five-piece band's only mission is to strike the right chords that'll render you incapable of not breaking a sweat and singing along.

The Plastic Pink guys bring the perfect blend of good-time melodies and crunchy, freaked-out texture. Definitely check out their recent release on the Cheap Miami compilation cassette, featured alongside cuts by local faves the Gun Hoes, Deaf Poets, and 16 others.

Be on the lookout for Livin' on the Coast, an EP coming on Cheap Miami real soon. And then, in the coming months, snatch up their seven-inch on Die Slaughterhouse Records, which has released music from the likes of Ty Segall, the Black Lips, and Deerhunter.

Check out Plastic Pinks on Facebook to find out where they'll be playing next.
