A crew of New Yorkers decked out in black baseball caps, black-and-neon muscles tees, and old-school Nike kicks, hard-core players slapping ping-pong balls, and hitting up nines on pool tables, ladies getting rowdy on a stripper pole, and guys showing off their hip-hop skills to a remix of Daft Punk ...
That's the party at Chalk Ping Pong & Billiards Lounge. And if you've ever been to the Washington Avenue and 12th Street joint, you know Chalk isn't your typical South Beach hot spot. Unlike Mansion, Bamboo, and the rest of the megaclubs, Chalk has a vintage, retro vibe that takes you back to the days of arcades and break-dancing.
As music blasted on the speakers during Housexxy night, Miami music junkies came up with their favorite '80s freestyle songs.

Guy "Teddy's Jam"
"This really isn't a freestyle song, but it's my favorite from the 80s," said Maria Huooten as she took a break from playing pool.
"I like to dance, so when it comes on, I automatically run into the dance floor. It makes you feel good."
Stevie B "I Wanna Be the One"
"Why is that your favorite?"
"It's meaningful and romantic," said a New Yorker who was sitting on a couch with his lady friend.
Kinda like Bruno Mars, wouldn't you agree?
Samantha Fox "Touch Me"
"The rhythm makes you dance," said a blonde from Norway who was sitting with a group of friends.
This is more of a pop song than freestyle, but hey, since she was from Norway and freestyle was more of an American phenomenon, we'll let it pass.
Debbie Deb "Lookout Weekend"
"Do I look like I'm from the 80s?" laughed Saso.
"Look, she thinks I'm from the 80s," he yelled to his friend who was playing pool.
"My favorite freestyle song? I don't know! I have to think about that one. I guess that song that says "look out weekend here we come" was a good one," he said.
Stevie B "Diamond Girl"
"You're my "Diamond Girl!" interrupted Saso's friend as he pointed his pool stick towards me before striking a solid.
Debbie Deb "When I Hear Music"
"But Debbie Deb, "When I Hear Music," that one's a classic," said Saso.
