When Luca Venezia first started his career a musician, he dabbled mostly in experimental breakcore and drum'n'bass, releasing music under Kid 606's label Tigerbeat6. But later, under the moniker Drop the Lime, his fame grew as he embraced more current popular styles like electro-house and dubstep. But don't accuse him of being yet another basshead-DJ-turned-electro-house phenomenon. Venezia has managed to dive into the new sound without ever completely abandoning the experimental flare that launched his career.
Last year, during Winter Music Conference, the DJ/producer seemed to be on every bill, including Studio A's Downtown Riot party and Scion's event at the Raleigh. He must have left quite an impression, because Miami hasn't been able to get enough of him since. Drop the Lime returns to Miami along with local beat-master DJ Craze to show the Vagabond's Thursday night party, Shake, how to really get the bass thumping.
