For all the jerks who scoffed: "Why the fuck would Arcade Fire choose Miami of all places for semi-secret, ultra-exclusive shows to promote its awesome new record, Reflektor?" ... We here at Crossfade offer a three-part answer.

1. Our city is home to almost a quarter-million Ayitiens. And Arcade Fire's Régine Chassagne is the proud daughter of Haitian parents who fled the dictatorship of Baby Doc.

2. This is the birthplace of disco. And Miami loves to dance. And the new album is nice and disco-y and co-produced by James Murphy.

3. We're such huge fans that our Arcade Fire shows sell out in minutes.

UPDATE Some more tickets have just been released for the Little Haiti show.

UPDATE #2 Arcade Fire is reportedly returning to Miami for two nights in April 2014.

Yesterday, the tickets for both of Arcade Fire's Miami concerts went on pre-sale.

But those tix were only available to fans with special individualized passwords. And those codes were only available to fans who pre-ordered Reflektor.

As one pissed-off ticket seeker complained: "Shit's just a little too precious."

Maybe. But luckily for some (though not many), the pre-sale fanatics didn't get all the tickets. So today, there was a general sale, beginning at 10 a.m. for the gig at Little Haiti Cultural Center and noon for the band's show at Mekka Nightclub.

Within five minutes, the Mekka tix were gone. (And yes, we contacted Ticketmaster and AEG to ask about the possibility of additional tickets. The answer: "No more to be released.")

The same deal with the Little Haiti sale. (In all, 2000 tix were purchased. And Rhythm Foundation confirms: "What a week! Yes, it's sold out.")

So, jerk, still snidely wondering if Miami's worthy of "a reflection of a reflection of a reflection"?
