The weekend has two stellar bookings in store for Miami's techno heads: Tony Rohr at the Electric Pickle on Friday night and Alexi Delano at Space on Saturday.
Brooklyn-based producer Tony Rohr boasts releases on esteemed labels like Cocoon, Clink, and Weave, and delivers a hard-hitting, industrial-tinged brand of techno live via synths and drum machines, perfect for a peak-time dancefloor. Rohr will be joined on the decks by local favorite Jason Baez who should bring his own dosage of deep techy goodness.
Tony Rohr with Jason Baez. 10 p.m. Friday, July 30. Electric Pickle, 2826 N. Miami Ave., Miami. 305-456-5613; electricpicklemiami.com
Meanwhile a little further downtown, another esteemed Brooklyn-based producer, Alexi Delano, will be rocking out at club Space. The Chilean-born, Swedish-raised Delano is a veteran of Stockholm's '90s EDM scene. He has since gained steady international accolades for his distinguished releases on top labels like Poker Flat and Plus 8, which consistently surprise and win over listeners. Delano will throw down in the club's Techno Loft along with resident DJs Maurizio & Danyelino and Dsan Powell. With club Space closing indefinitely after Labor Day weekend, this may be one of the last chances to enjoy a quality underground techno set at this venue, so don't miss out!
