It's the weekend y'all!
If the thought alone of these next two days doesn't want to make you get up, shred your papers, and do a victory dance, then maybe we should remind you of a few things.
The Miami Heat made it to the playoffs (no shocker there), the Miami Marlins finally realized it was baseball season and beat the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night, and it's (almost) 4/20, which means that nearly the entire city will be celebrating national smoke out day.

Mr. Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell has been making booties pop since 1985 when he began managing 2 Live Crew, eventually joining the group as their hype man. Fast-forward almost 30 years and the Miami legend can still make even the most rhythm-less person "Wanna Rock" and "Doo Doo Brown." Luke gonna get your pre-4/20 juices flowing.
Funhouse Fridaze. With DJ Jared Cole. Friday, April 19, 8 p.m, Villa 221, 221 NE 17th St., Miami; 305-416-5280; villa221.com. Free. Ages 21 and up. Moombahton, free cotton candy, giant stuffed animals, monkey mirrors, hookah, live art, body painting, and "weed nuggets walking around" ... Carnivals like this should happen more often.
Millionyoung. With Boxwood. Friday, April 19, 10 p.m, Will Call, 700 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-577-5900; willcallmiami.com. Free. Millionyoung combines elements of soft EDM, vocals, and world sounds to create smooth, danceable beats. His laid back, relaxing music is the kind you'll wanna listen to as you puff the magic dragon.
Sweatstock. With Otto Von Schirach, ANR, Beat Machines, This Heart Electric, and others. Saturday, April 20, 12 p.m., Sweat Records, 5505 NE Second Ave., Miami; 786-693-9309; sweatrecordsmiami.com. Free. All ages. Classics never die and Sweat Records is out to prove it. Some of the best local bands including Otto Von Schirach, ANR, and Beatmachines, to name a few, will be performing at the all-day block party in celebration of Record Store Day. Ms. Cheezious, Veggie Xpress, and free Panther Coffee samples will keep you going until the music stops. Live on vinyl, live on.
Lanza 4/20 Fest. With Lanzallamas, La Lovo, and MMC. Saturday, April 20, 10 p.m., PAX, 337 SW Eighth St., Miami; 305-640-5847; paxmiami.com. $10. The high energy beats of Lanzallamas will have your hips gyrating and feet moving all night. And in the spirit of 4/20, Culture Stop and Clandestino Pub will be providing late-night munchies to keep you going.
4/20 Fest. With Stokeswood, Blowfly, Don Sha, the Wholetones, and Omine. Saturday, April 20, 10 p.m., Tobacco Road, 626 S. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-374-1198; tobacco-road.com. $5-$10. A guy who wears a Lucha Libre outfit is an interesting sight, but that's just the beginning of the Road's 4/20 Fest. We predict the silliness factor will only increase as the night rolls on.
Louie Vega. With DJs Brad Strickland and Ryan Evans. Saturday, April 20, 10 p.m., The Vagabond, 30 NE 14th St., Miami; 305-379-0508; thevagabondmiami.com. $10. Before the world was struck with EDM madness, there was old-school hip-hop. From Afrika Bambaataa to DJ Red Alert and Jazzy Jay, these guys were practically the first mainstream DJs. Somewhere among those giants was Louie Vega, one-half of legendary house duo Masters at Work. He may be a veteran in the industry. But man, does he still have a way with the turntables. Catch him and resident DJs Brad Strickland and Ryan Evans as they celebrate Carmel Ophir's birthday.
Earth Day Benefit Concert. With Soma, Decadance Unit, Milk Spot, Bad Ass, Catacomb Crows, and others. Sunday, April 21, 8 p.m., Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE 2nd Ave., 305-757-1807, churchillspub.com. $5. Every now and then, you gotta show some love to the Earth. Party for a cause as Churchill's celebrates the day dedicated to the Earth we live in with live bands, DJs, and painting. All proceeds will benefit the Urban Paradise Guild, an organization dedicated to making a difference in the environment. "Rock for change."
Stokeswood. Sunday, April 21, 3 p.m., Lummus Park, between 10th and 11th Street and Ocean Drive, 305-673-7730; miamibeachfl.gov/parksandrecreation. Free. Ride to the beach: $15 worth of gas money. Parking: $5. Listening to Stokeswood while catching some rays: priceless. No, seriously. It's free.
Third Annual Crawfish Boil. With Shamarr Allen, University of Miami Frost School's African-American Ensemble and Do-It-Yourself Ensemble, and DJ Haitian Hillbilly. Sunday, April 21, 1 p.m., The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami; 305-576-9577; thestagemiami.com. Free. Get your blues and crawfish fever on with Louisiana's own trumpeter Shamarr Allen, bands from the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, and DJ Haitian Hillbilly. A heaping bowl of crawfish will have you singin' the blues.
