Miami! Get thee hence to the Florida Renaissance Festival as it joins us in the 305! The festival takes place at Miami’s Cauley Square Historic Village (22400 Old Dixie Hwy, Miami) for three weekends, this Saturday through Sunday, April 13. The festival will feature more than 100 costumed performers, music that will stir your inner Viking warrior to battle, and themed comedy/improv shows that prove laughter is truly timeless. Of course, don’t forget about turkey legs, wenches, and masterful displays of archery. Go ahead — revive that pirate costume, bust out your Game of Thrones cosplay, and join the anachronistic fun. It’s the best time-traveling you can do without the aid of a DeLorean or a TARDIS. For all of you 21st-century technophiles with fancy future gadgets, there’s even a festival companion mobile app available for iOS and Android to plan out all your way-back-in-the-day goodness.
The festival is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets start at $20 for adults and $9 for children ages 6 to 11, but you can purchase a pass ($40) that covers all three weekends. Call 800-3-REN-FES (736-337) or visit ren-fest.com.
