It was one of Art Basels most interactive, innovative shows in 2005, and now its back. Pimp My Kart is a touring art show -- a socially conscious extravaganza that rolls along the streets of Miami -- that was inspired by a homeless man who transformed two carts into a double-decker loft complete with storage space. This year 43 artists will decorate 30 shopping carts and show them off at various points around the city. If you are lucky, you will spot one during your travels to Art Basel venues. If you are smart, you will go to Faktura Gallery tonight from 7:00 to midnight to see them all. Some of the artists who are "pimping" include Julie Kahn, Orlando Villagran, Carlos Bueno, Bullfrog Beatz, and the shows creator, Jacquelyn Jackson Johnston. Vouchers for free prizes and wacky surprises will be handed out at the opening, and there will be live music by Jaialai as well as free refreshments. Feel free to bring donations of clothes and nonperishable food.
