Miami’s growing Wynwood Arts District is one of the most exciting things to happen to 305 hipsters since Critical Mass. But would you believe it? A lot of out-of-towners still have no idea the cultural enclave exists. The fast-approaching III Points - Music, Art, and Technology Festival is looking to change that. From the same people who consistently bring great acts to Bardot, III Points is taking over the Wynwood streets. From art installations and exhibits to technological activations, free shows, awesome barbecues, and heavy-hitting headlining performances, there should be plenty for people to talk about. From Thursday, October 3, through Saturday, October 5, all good culture vultures will hover along NW Second Avenue. Catch a screening of David Lynch’s new documentary at the Light Box (404 NW 26th St.). Learn the secrets of producing with produce in Gigi’s parking lot (3470 N. Miami Ave.). Catch a conversation with James Murphy in the Bardot living room (3456 N. Miami Ave., Miami). Mix art, music, and local pride for the Gummdrops Music Showcase at the Brisky Gallery (130 NW 24th St.). And don’t miss DJ Shadow’s triumphant “too future” return to Miami.
