Putting food to mouth is something you can handle, but transforming the goods from raw to yum is where you foul up. You bungle the baking, ruin the roasting, and slip up with the saucepan — but today you can learn how to rock out with your wok out. The thought of cooking with the round-bottomed metal pan might intimidate, but don’t go running to your microwave just yet. Eleanor Hoh’s Wok Star cooking class will teach you how to make easy and delicious meals in 30 minutes or less.

“I call it my no-recipe, no-measuring, no-calorie counting technique. It’s a foolproof stir-fry method, and once people understand it, they can master wok cooking,” says Hoh. From 7 to 10 p.m., you’ll learn a new method that will have your family licking their fingers in approval. And you’ll do it while surrounded by Gibson guitars in the coolest showroom/soundstage/studio that your non-VIP ass has never seen, and won’t unless you’re Bon Jovi or a wannabe Wok Star. For 65 bucks, you can learn how to make some awesome grub, ooh and aah over the autographed guitars, and meet some equally wokky new friends at the Gibson Showroom (180 NE 39th St., Miami). Reservations are required, so call 305-865-9297, visit www.eleanorhoh.com, or e-mail [email protected]. Check out the showroom at www.gibson.com. RAINA MCLEOD
