Becky is a 40-something wife and mother. Her life is good. She has a steady job at a car dealership. She has a loving husband and a son working on a graduate degree in psychology.
But something is missing. She’s middle-aged and feeling like her life has hit a rut. Then a mysterious millionaire walks into the dealership one night, and everything changes.
He’s a widower who wants to buy his employees brand-new cars. He also falls head over heels for Becky, whom he thinks is a widow. As happy and content as Becky is, she can’t bring herself to tell him the truth. And when she’s offered the chance to step into an enticing new life, she takes it.
Becky’s New Car, opening Wednesday at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre (280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables), is a touching, laugh-out-loud comedy about fantasy, fate, and life’s many detours. Choices and consequences have never been so droll — and so funny.
Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: May 9. Continues through June 3, 2012
