This year’s annual Pride weekend has come and gone, but this is Miami, and we’re always ready to celebrate our gay community. Welcome back another edition of the fun and informative Miami Beach Bruthaz weekend, making its hub at the Congress Hotel (1052 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach) this Thursday through Sunday. Bruthaz weekend was founded in the summer of 2006 as a way to get same-sex-loving men and women together for more than just a party. Centered on the theme of “Knowledge Culture Fashion,” Bruthaz marks the third weekend of each July with tons of cultural, informative, and inspiring events meant to boost camaraderie, empowerment, and well-being among the homosexual community — but that doesn’t mean it’s boring. Between informative workshops covering the hottest in social, economic, and political issues, attendees can let loose and see the hottest in fashion, film, music, and, yes, sexy bodies. Ready yourself for a performance by the MBB Hot Boyz, the Official MBB Rooftop Pool Party, and a cutting-edge Men’s Fashion Show. Save some energy for the MBB All Hip-Hop All Night Blowout, and definitely catch a seat for the Florida premiere of You Are Not Alone, a powerful look at the brave men breaking their silence on homosexuality in the black community.
