Bummed out that tennis superstar Venus Williams canceled her Miami Book Fair appearance? Oh hey good news! The multiple Grand Slam champion will be signing her book Come to Win at the Books & Books at Bal Harbour Shops on Wednesday, September 15. So instead of waiting in line for hours on end baking in the Miami sun, now you can wait in line for hours on end while holding a $12 espresso. But hey, it's Venus. So it's totally worth it!

While most self-help books by athletes are ghost written and feature a plethora of tired cliche's and vague open ended advice ("You need to decide to succeed!"), Venus went ahead and gathered an A-list crop of folks successful in their respective fields and picked their brains. Among them are Bill Clinton, Magic Johnson, Meg Whitman, Denzel Washington, Billie Jean King, and Debra Lee, just to name a few. Sir Richard Branson is also a contributor. So you'll no doubt not only be inspired to become a great entrepreneur, but also to cross the Atlantic ocean using nothing but a cardboard box and a pair of pants in record time!

But the main attraction to the book is Ms. Williams herself. Venus became a pro tennis player at age 14, beat the No. 50 ranked player at the time, and has continue to kick ass ever since. Venus became the first African-American to reach the No. 1 ranking in either women or men's pro tennis, has won multiple Grand Slam titles, three Olympic gold medals, and is always the snappiest dresser on the tennis court.

She also graduated cum laude with a degree in fashion design from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and launched her own athletic and casual wear clothing line. Venus could've just written this book all on her own, really.

The book signing will be this Wednesday at Bal Harbour Shops (9700 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour) The line will open at 6 p.m. The signing starts at 7 p.m. You must purchase a copy of the book from Books & Books to get it signed. Venus will only sign her book, so don't ask her to autograph your tennis racket or your baby. Also, no personalized autographs. Venus doesn't know you personally. You're not fooling anyone. She will, however, pose for pictures from the table. Call 305-442-4408.
