Even though you’ve heard it a bunch of times, the riff from "Smoke On the Water" is still one of the coolest crunches ever recorded. It just oozes rock ’n’ roll and demands your attention, much like the band behind it. That’s why the Hard Rock Live (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood) is bringing Deep Purple to its legendary stage. The band will serenade you with bass-grumbling, love-making, head-banging hits while feeding off the magic of the largest collection of rock ’n’ roll memorabilia in the world — or at least a sizable chunk of it.
Whether you remember jammin’ to “Hush” when it first came out or you recently discovered “Child in Time” in your dad’s record collection, you gotta pay your respects to the Guinness World Records’ loudest band. Ian Gillan sure has a set of pipes on him. Hear him belt out old favorites and some new bits off Deep Purple’s latest album, the hilariously named NOW What?!
The show starts Sunday at 7 p.m., and tickets cost $54 to $74. Call 954-797-5531 or visit hardrocklivehollywoodfl.com.
