If the swaying palms, lapping waves, and coconut-scented balmy breezes are tempting you to stay in your bikini all day, just do it. We won’t tell your boss if you call in sick with a case of summer flu and head to the Keys. The subtropical season is just heating up, and there are plenty of activities for the whole family.

Get wet -- and stay wet -- today through June 16 at Island Sun Splash ´06 in Key Largo. Newbies can join in the “Try Scuba” sessions, while certified divers can compete in the Scuba Olympics at the Jacobs Aquatic Center (Mile Marker 100, Key Largo). To help you document your fishy adventures, Emmy-winning videographer Frazier Nivens will offer tips on shooting and editing underwater video, and renowned underwater photographer Stephen Frink will host a seminar on digital photography. Scavenger hunts, historical lectures, and nightly poolside entertainment are also planned. Festival admission costs $20, $10 for ages ten through sixteen, and free for children younger than ten. Discounts will be offered on all diving and snorkeling trips and merchandise. Visit www.divecapital.org for a list or participating dive shops. Call 305-451-4747 for information about Key Largo accommodations.
