Can you imagine what Constantin Brâncusi’s Endless Column might have looked like if he had fashioned his timeless opus out of pancakes instead of metal modules? The folks at the Bakehouse Art Complex (BAC) can. They’ve taken a page from the famed sculptor’s oeuvre for this Sunday’s Pancake Party at BAC (561 NW 32nd St., Miami), where they will dish out soaring stacks of the savory treats during an artsy soiree that would have made Brâncusi blush with envy. BAC knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so the creative crew at the boho enclave plans to make the experience an unforgettable one while raising funds for a new ceramic studio to be unveiled during the 2014-15 season. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Sunday, BAC will host a day of gut-busting fun for the entire family, including pancake decorating, a pancake-eating contest, music, dancing, and a sprawling breakfast table set with delectable brunch items. You can also interact with BAC’s resident artists and sip scrumptious breakfast cocktails — if you’re 21 or older — or try your hand at creating a work of art to take home after an early mealtime hootenanny. And, best of all, proceeds collected during the flavorful feast will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Knight Foundation, assuring that BAC and its talented tenants continue providing endless joy to South Florida art lovers.
