For the past 100 years, Tobacco Road (626 S. Miami Ave., Miami) has kept legions of city dwellers drunk, fed, and soaked in music. And given the recent announcement of the property’s sale, you have only three more years to enjoy it in its current state of glorious historic-dive-itude. Before you know it, the building might be leveled to make way for a car dealership parking lot. So celebrate the legacy of this most important venue with the Memorial Day party Punk R Us, which will celebrate chaos, disorder, and telling evil corporations to fuck off.
Live performances by Don Motta, Kill the Rooster, the Nude Caps, Mind You, and the Riot Agents will have you hyped and ready for a revolution, as will some beer, a Road burger, and a shot of whiskey. To quote Miami’s own Against All Authority: “Destroy what destroys you.” In this case, that means kill the night by having as much fun as humanly possible. You only live once, and Tobacco Road might be dead and gone sooner than you think.
