Everybody loves Ross Mathews. I mean, how can you not love the effortlessly hilarious Hollywood gossiper with the distinguishable, high-pitched voice?

His voice may be one of the things that make him stand out, but it's something he's learned to accept and embrace. In other words, he manned up.

That's not just a reality check -- it's the concept of his book, Man Up! Tales Of My Delusional Self-Confidence.

"The message of Man Up is... if I can celebrate what makes me different [and what makes] me stand out, basically a gay cartoon version of a person, it isn't just a gay story though, it's a universal story of accepting differences," Mathews fessed. "If I can make people accept themselves while making them LOL at the same time, then the job of the book is done."

Mathews is just a small town boy who comes clean about every aspect of his life from Balloon Day in elementary school where he would "write messages to the universe," tie them to a balloon, and set them free, to his first shot as Ross the Intern on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno at the Ocean's Eleven premiere, to the time he became BFFs with Gwyneth Paltrow.

"I've lived this crazy life growing up in a farm town in Washington state and it was a challenge to share every part of myself, especially being so different... but [it's about] embracing your differences as opposed to hating them, and I believe people waste so much time hating their differences and that gets you no where."
