Buh, buh, buh, bummmm. Almost anyone can name this tune in four notes, and even the deaf often recognize the vibrations of the thunderous opening to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C Minor. Though the 200-year-old work could very well be the most famous opus in the classical European tradition, not everyone has heard it performed live where it shines. Today the First Presbyterian Church of Miami presents the piece as part of its III Annual Beethoven & Beyond 609 … 6/09 … 6:09 … Love Your Neighbor Concert Series. Master organist and musical coordinator David Brodie, pianist Thomas Scianmarello, soprano Gillian Cura, and the Dolce Strings Ensemble will join the Alhambra Symphony Orchestra beginning at precisely 6:09 p.m. The symphony and parking are free to the public, so you have no excuse to skip it. Donations are encouraged.
