Private Party Playground

Everyone knows about the Delano’s Florida Room — the basement-like space transformed into a private playground for Miami’s A-list. But above ground, located in the lobby of the historic hotel, is the Rose Bar. You probably didn’t think you had any reason to visit, but now you do, thanks to an impromptu hipster dance party called Young, Fresh & New. It’s a Thursday-night weekend primer brought to you by South Beach scenesters Erica Fickling and Luke Dupont. From 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., DJ Ruen spins a fun mix of painfully cool classics and new Hype Machine-approved tracks. The winning combo has the hipsterati showing up in full force to play and party. And while the hotel’s bright lobby is a stark contrast to the Florida Room’s dim atmosphere, nobody seems to mind. There’s no cover, but your duds will be scrutinized at the door.
