Orgasmic Origami

“Chase me! Mate with me! Seduce me!” yells Isabella Rossellini, dressed in red spandex and bug eyes. “He’s so strong and sharp, he doesn’t need a vagina at all. He ejaculates in my wound.” The Lynchian actress is re-enacting the mating ritual of bedbugs. As if the little bastards weren’t gross enough, just imagine them in your sheets stabbing each other with their little dagger penises — the females crawling away bleeding, the males high-fiving. The video is one of five shorts in Seduce Me, the miniseries followup to Green Porno, dramatizing the seduction rituals of salmon, cuttlefish, snakes, and ducks. The actress is the writer, director, and actor of the series, and she’s coming to Miami in what might be one of the coolest cameos of Art Basel. She’ll appear at the Wolfsonian for the opening reception of Seduce Me, an exhibit of the shorts and a site-specific installation that features the elaborate paper sculptures used in Rossellini’s latest miniseries of animal porn. When it opens this Wednesday, attend “The Arts of Seduction,” featuring Mondavi wines, a dinner, and an auction of Rossellini-designed handbags.
Thursdays-Sundays, noon. Starts: Dec. 2. Continues through Dec. 5, 2010
