Macho, Macho Fan

Ever since Ultra Music Festival wrapped, you’ve been dry-heaving, bumping into inanimate objects, and having random acid flashbacks of a cop and a Native American delivering a pregnant cowboy’s baby. But you still want to party, because, dammit, you like the nightlife and you like to boogie. Well, you’re in luck. Another huge music event is about to hit the 305: the Village People and the Spinners this Sunday at Magic City Casino. Yes! If you have a penchant for dance music and elaborate dressup (have you seen our slide shows for Miami Music Week?), this news has you stoked. Plus your random acid flashbacks will make so much more sense if a construction worker, GI, and leather-clad biker sing “Y.M.C.A.,” “In the Navy,” and “Macho Man” right in front of your eyes. Who exactly are the Spinners? No, they’re not a bunch of beefy men sporting large calf muscles and Spandex while engaging in a spinning class taught by a pregnant cowboy. The Spinners are a Detroit soul music group big in the ’60s. Now that’s what we call a par-tay.
