Support the independent voice of Miami and help keep the future of New Times free.

Here's a nice challenge for local shutterbugs. In celebration of their Arnold Newman exhibits, the Lowe Museum is hosting a photography contest.  The prize is a free membership and the posting of your work on the front page of the museum's website.

All you have to do is take a picture of the outside of the museum and submit it to the Curator of Education, Jodi Sypher, by October 4th.

Rules: The pic has to be a .jpeg file, clearly labeled as your name (e.g. "pscottcunningham.jpg"), accompanied by a description of your inspiration for the shot. And it should include your name, email, address, and phone number.

For more info, click on Jodi's name to email her or see the Lowe's website, specifically the calendar of events

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
