Some say autumn is the season for pumpkins; others (the smart ones) know it’s the season for beer. Oktoberfest brings out all the best brews, Halloween parties offer fun gatherings for drinking them, and pre-holiday stress means you probably need to knock back one or two.
In honor of fall’s arrival, Grovetoberfest is bringing beer, bites, and bacchanalia to Peacock Park (2550 S. Bayshore Dr., Coconut Grove) this Saturday. The brew fest will feature unlimited samples for attendees, a live music stage, Beer 101 sessions, fan favorite voting, and a homebrewers battle. There will also be kitchen lab demos by local chefs including Michael Schwartz of Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink and Andre Bienvenu of Joe’s Stone Crab.
This year’s beer list will offer 200 varieties, from pumpkin ales to ciders to IPAs — and a special Grovetoberfest coconut porter. Soak up your scores of samples with on-site eats from Pincho Factory, Elevation Burger, Sunset Tavern, and Kitchen Kebab, among others. There’s even a safe-ride-home program for attendees who overindulge (but please drink responsibly).
