For Miami basketball fans, it might be difficult to tear away from inbound extended family, reruns of Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and other holiday distractions to give much attention to the Miami Heat. But ’tis the season for some monster NBA matchups and the mark of the beginning of the most competitive point of the regular season. There are still enough games left to play for a bad team to turn its season around, and the great teams have yet to sit back and put things on cruise control (except for the San Antonio Spurs). Coming to town is the Utah Jazz, whose name makes the least sense of any team in the NBA. This pack of nobodies managed a winning record, second in their division, owing to their immensely strong front court of Al Jefferson, Enes Kanter, and Paul Millsap. Strong front courts happen to be giving the Heat a lot of trouble this season. Let’s hope they won’t spoil the Heat’s pre-Christmas bash.
