In the mid-1950s, Cubana Airlines offered the Tropicana Special, flying socialites from Miami to Havana for just one night of glamour and debauchery at the glitzy Tropicana nightclub. They even removed rows of seats to make room for a showgirls stage and any impromptu, mile-high conga lines.

This Saturday at 8 p.m., you’ll have another chance to get swept away in a night of Old Havana glamour. Cuban-born, Spain-based singer Lucrecia will perform classic Latin tunes and jazz ballads from her Album de Cuba in a one-night performance at the Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall.

With her usual rainbow braids and chunky glasses, Lucrecia often looks like she could be George Clinton’s younger sis. But for this album, the singer has embraced Billie Holiday’s gardenia-in-hair retro flare. She’ll even be backed by a bona fide big band as she sings “El Manisero,” “Siboney,” and “Guantanamera,” an album track on which local boy Andy Garcia sang and played bongos.
