Eye on Miami: Gabrielle Union, Calvin Harris, and More

It's not easy having eyes all over the scene, being around to take in all the wild visuals at all the worthwhile places in the city. There are, however, those parties and gallery openings where a fortunate photographer can point and shoot. Every week, in collaboration with WorldRedEye, New Times will bring you a solid recap of all the experiences you may have missed around Miami in previous days. It's impossible to be everywhere, but hey, we can try to keep our Eye on Miami. 

October 28, Belvedere Vodka & Miami Auto Museum Host VIP Cocktail Celebrating the Launch of Spectre 
Belvedere Vodka and Dezer’s Miami Auto Museum hosted an exclusive VIP cocktail reception celebrating the launch of Spectre starring Daniel Craig. Select guests received special VIP passes to the Miami advance screening and a chance to win Spectre premium items. Guests of the fete also witnessed the unveiling of the new Jaguar and Range Rover, similar to the actual vehicles in the movie while savoring lite bites and signature cocktails.

October 28, Coffee & Conversation With Desmond Richardson at YoungArts
YoungArts held and intimate gathering for a select group of guest to share coffee and conversation with alumnus Desmond Richardson. Richardson is a Tony-nominated Broadway performer, 1986 YoungArts winner in dance and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts, and co-founder of Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Guests were treated to a wonderful breakfast spread by Starr Events, while learning about Richardson’s rich artistic journey and watched the renowned dance company rehearse for the upcoming Outside the Box event on the YoungArts plaza November 7. 

October 29, Yeezy Season 1 Collection Launch at The Webster
Adidas Originals x Kanye West launched Yeezy Collection Season 1 at the Webster Miami. It was a rare and intimate evening to celebrate Kanye West’s first collection with a special DJ set by Virgil Abloh. Guests enjoyed champagne Perrier Jouët Grand Brut, signature cocktails by Avion Tequila and Reserva 44, and sweet and savory canapés by Le Basque.

October 29, Kygo & Mr. Brainwash at LIV
Party goers kicked off Halloween weekend the best way they knew how, by raging hardcore at LIV. Of course. Kygo stole the show and gave everyone, including Mr. Brainwash, a run for their money on the dance floor.

October 29, Gabrielle Union Celebrates Her Birthday at Ball & Chain
Actress Gabrielle Union celebrated her birthday in true Miami form at the always sizzling Ball & Chain. Union was joined by friends and family for an unforgettable night of good drinks, eats, and endless dancing.

October 29, Mario at Story
It was a thrilling night at Story with Halloween vibes radiating throughout the house. Mario took to the stage and had party-goers raging the night away to his spooky on point performance.

October 30, Hardwell & Calvin Harris at Story
Leave it up to Story to ring in Halloween weekend the most epic way possible. Hardwell took to the decks and gave party goers, including fellow DJ Calvin Harris, a run for their money that kept everyone raging until the early morning hours.

October 31, Nelly’s Birthday Celebration at E11even
Rapper Nelly joined Miami hot spot E11even for an epic Halloween night. Nelly, who also used the evening as an early birthday celebration, gave an epic performance that had party goers getting down and dirty until the early morning hours.

October 31, Halloween at Delano
Delano celebrated Halloween with an all-night, two-part affair. Party-goers kicked off the night at Delano’s ultimate poolside retreat, Delano Beach Club where they sipped on Perrier-Jouët and Absolut Vodka while enjoying the sounds of the DJ for the All Gold Everything poolside party. At midnight, revelers were welcomed to the Haunted Church at FDR at Delano where the party encouraged some sin and continue on into the early morning. Tantalizing sounds filled the night thanks to Ben DJ, Dave Sol, and Lady Sha.

November 1, Chainz & Niykee Heaton at LIV on Sunday
Another LIV on Sundays only meant another epic night down in the books. 2 Chainz and Niykee Heaton were both in the house to top off Halloween weekend in style.
