Good news for local lovers of live music: Transit Lounge (rises again! Though the club itself was doing brisk business, earlier this month owners announced that the building form which they rent the space had gone into foreclosure and would be sold by the bank. Thanks to some last-minute wrangling, though, owner Will Edwards was able to sign a deal to buy it himself. So all the events planned as farewell parties are now, uh, just parties. Like the one this Thursday, when promoter crew Mute Miami throws its own Spring Remix,a send-off to the recently departed college semester. The lineup includes Delpaxton, which has been playing the South Florida circuit since about 2003, but the quartet’s late-’90s-ish take on power pop will likely be new to the Miami bar crowd. Cowboys & Indians play a related brand of post-post-postemo pop-rock, though usually on the tri-county all-ages and Christian scenes. Relative unknown New Theory is billed as playing “chill sounds of the illuminati,” but the real weirdness will come courtesy of the evening’s headliners and veritable veterans in comparison, Animal Tropical. The natty foursome’s blend of Afrobeat, rock, and even free jazz noises might raise some eyebrows in the crowd, but the band’s specialty is getting doubters’ behinds shaking.
