Larry Csonka is the Miami Dolphins' career rushing leader, with nearly twice as many yards (6737) as number two Mercury Morris (3887), although it should be noted Csonka had nearly double the attempts as any other running back. Morris never made the NFL Hall of Fame, but Csonka did, along with contemporaries Nick Buoniconti, Bob Griese, Jim Langer, Larry Little, and Paul Warfield. Their coach, Don Shula, is also enshrined. All seven were part of the unequaled undefeated season of 1972. Dan Marino and Dwight Stephenson are in too. Busts of the nine honorees are, in an unprecedented act, being removed from the Hall to be displayed, along with thousands of exhibits and artifacts, at Gate D of Dolphins Stadium (2267 Dan Marino Blvd., Miami) through Saturday, November 5, in celebration of the team's 40th season. Hours are weekdays from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, and next Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission is five dollars for adults; kids and season-ticket holders get in free. Don't worry about having to hold your breath for the Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest because you'll have an air tank strapped to your back. Instead of diving to gaze at beautiful coral reefs and exotic fish, you'll whip out your knife and carve the funniest, scariest, or most aquatic-themed jack-o'-lantern you can manage at 30 feet under. The dive boat crew will judge the top three winners and award prizes, including a free dive trip (with equipment). Past years' favorites include a pirate jack-o'-lantern complete with an eye patch, and a diver pumpkin adorned with mask and snorkel. The trip leaves from Amy Slate's Amoray Dive Resort (104250 Overseas Hwy., Key Largo) at noon. Registration is $60, plus equipment rental if you don't have your own gear. It may be fall and the Easter bunny is still sleeping under a sofa somewhere, but the silly folks at the Cauley Square Historic Village (2240 Old Dixie Hwy., Goulds) are hosting a free Halloween Egg Hunt today at 1:30 and 2:30. (They just want to mix it up a bit.) Children can show off their costumes while searching for orange and black eggs filled with tiny toys and candy, then dash off for trick-or-treating in the village. You'll also enjoy face-painting, a ceramic-painting workshop, and carving your own pumpkin (prices range from two to seven dollars) at 1:00.
