Back in Bach

When you think of an orchestra, you think of penguin suits and maybe even Centrum Silver. Well, how about an orchestra that you can bang your head to? The Trans-Siberian Orchestra has “the theatrical appeal of the Phantom of the Opera and the rock opera storytelling of The Who’s Tommy.” Throw in some Mozart, Strauss, Queen, Yes, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin, and we’re really talking. This Friday at 8 p.m. you can witness what is quite possibly the world’s largest rock band. TSO rocks the stage with a complete orchestra, a full rock band, and a dozen lead singers, which means 12 front-men and women to swoon over. Rock out with TSO and their pyrotechnics at the American Airlines Arena. This will be a rock-centric holiday performance as TSO is acclaimed for their numerous Christmas albums: Christmas Eve and Other Stories, The Christmas Attic, and The Lost Christmas Eve.
Fri., Dec. 10, 8 p.m., 2010
