John and Jane Q. Public probably don’t know a whole lot about art. But that doesn’t mean they don’t long to learn. What if the chance came to look at more than 80 pieces of art in one intimate setting, with the artists present to explain what inspired their works, or how they envisioned a human form out of found items? There is a glimmer at the end of the tunnel for the culturally unenlightened, thanks to the Heart of the Grove Gallery and Gift Shop. Members of the public are invited to view juried artwork showcased by the GroveHouse Artists, a co-op with 30 members whose work includes sculpture, watercolor, and digital painting. It’s an ideal opportunity to put down your remote, immerse yourself in art, eat some gourmet hors d’oeuvre, and listen to live music in the midst of one of Miami’s most happening neighborhoods.
