The Gables Cinema and Secret Celluloid Society present the 40th anniversary 4K digital restoration of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre this Halloween weekend Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1 at 11:30 pm both days. Shown as part of After Hours, this classic American slasher follows a group of friends who fall victim to “Leatherface” and his family of cannibals. Although it’s an entirely fictional plot, many of the horrific events in the film were inspired by real life murderer Ed Gein. This restoration of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the only transfer to return to the original 16mm A/B rolls, the actual film that rolled through the cameras, and took over five grueling months to complete. Tickets to these screenings are $11.50 and under.
Fri., Oct. 31, 11:30 p.m.; Sat., Nov. 1, 11:30 p.m., 2014
