If NPR’s pledge drive hit a slump last night it’s because the station’s dedicated listeners were at the Arsht Center, laughing uncontrollably. David Sedaris did a reading for the pleasantly filled auditorium; the subject matter ranged from shopping for bulk condoms at Costco with his straight brother-in-law, to human shit. Afterwards, hundreds lined up to have books autographed and pass a few generous moments with the author. New Times grabbed some dedicated fans and asked them to throw David a quick shout out, or tell the subject of their favorite Sedaris story. Here’s what we found.
