- Villa Mayfair to Reopen With Changes, Casual Vibe
The French Mediterranean restaurant, complete with gilt chairs and DJ booth, closed for the summer, making tongues wag in speculation whether it would ever make a comeback. Last week, Short Order told you it was, indeed reopening with a casual vibe and menu to match.
You can see for yourself on Tuesday, November 6, when Villa Mayfair
holds an election day party -- complete with free champagne for the
ladies and beer for the men (up to three free drinks per person).
Starting
at 3 p.m., Villa Mayfair is inviting everyone -- regardless of who you
voted for -- to watch the election results on its three large screen
televisions just installed. The restaurant is also offering a bar bites
menu and '80s music to dance to. Regan era, anyone?
The
restaurant, which doesn't technically open until the end of November, is
clearly relaunching with a casual menu. Gone are the multi-course,
prix-fixe tasting menus. They've been replaced with more
neighborhood-friendly items like radeberger beer-braised mussels ($14),
herb roasted farm-raised chicken ($16), and flat iron steak ($24) for
dinner.
Villa Mayfair will also be open for lunch, featuring
salads and sandwiches like the spicy pork belly avocado sandwich ($11),
Reuben ($12), and chopped Greek salad ($10). Coffee to go will be
offered in the morning.
