The Grind Burgers Announced
The Shake Shack Shack Burger is one of 30 different burgers competing at The Grind.
The Grind, Miami's home town burger competition, is this Saturday and we're finally counting down to burger madness.
On March 31 at 7 p.m., 30 local restaurants will compete with their meat at Wynwood's Miami Entertainment Complex. Tickets are still available for $75 in advance, $85 at the door. VIP tickets ($125) get you access to the meat party one hour earlier, at 6 p.m., a VIP badge, a meet-and-and greet with the judges, and the ability to hang at the VIP lounge. Miami New Times readers can take $10 off advance-purchase tickets by using code NTIMES (while supplies last).
If you're the kind of person that likes to plan things well in advance, here's a list of the participating restaurants along with a description of the burgers they're serving at the event:
PETE ROSE (Head First Slider)
3-ounce beef blend, organic arugula, tomato confit, 'slow' onions, Beecher's flagship, Benton's bacon, black sesame mayo on toasted Challah.
Bernie's L.A. Café, Miami Beach
BERNIE'S LATIN BURGER
100-percent certified Black Angus ground beef, caramelized onions, grilled sliced Chorizo, potato sticks, chopped lettuce w/garlic & cumin aioli, served on grilled Challah buns.
Burger & Beer Joint, Brickell
Short rib burger with red onion marmalade, goat cheese, and Duroc pork belly bacon on a brioche bun.
SIDE: Duck Fat Fries.
Burger Bar by Chef Allen, Fort Lauderdale
THE CARMEN MIRANDA
Ground brisket blend beef topped with crispy, braised Korobuta pork belly, spiced mango chutney, citrus aioli, baby arugula and Manchego cheese.
Charm City Burger Company, Deerfield Beach
THE PIG MAC
3-ounce slider with bacon infused cheddar, onion bacon jam, confit, tomato, and baconaisse. SIDE: Pork belly tater tots with piquillo pepper.

Half-pound burger topped with shaved smoked pork, cucumber, cilantro onions, pate aioli and pickled radishes, in a house made bao burger bun, with dashi ketchup.
Chuck Burger Joint, Palm Beach Gardens
THE PALM BEACHER
All natural Creekstone blend, Tilamook Cheddar, Mustardy Iceberg Slaw, Walt's Farmhouse Tomatoes and pickles on a toasted potato bun.
Cuban Guys, Hialeah
Fresh ground beef with house seasoning, served with diced onions and dashed with a house frita sauce on a Cuban roll. Piled high with made from scratch Julianne cut fries.
El Rey de las Fritas, Miami
Ground beef mixed with a family recipe of herbs and spices. Cooked on a flat grill with onions, special sauce, served in a round Cuban bun with julienne fries.

100-percent certified organic beef topped with 6-month aged real cheddar cheese, thick organic bacon, sautéed fresh mushrooms and onions, hot pepper relish and signature Elevation sauce on a toasted potato bun.

Half-pound burger topped with cheddar cheese, home smoked pulled pork, creamy ranch dressing and homemade jerk BBQ sauce.
Flip Burger Bar, North Miami
10-ounce chef's choice of freshly ground steak, topped with pepper jack cheese, homemade chipotle barbecue sauce, homemade onion strings, and fresh jalapeno peppers.

Lean nuggets of ground sirloin seasoned Brazilian style, grilled, and served with chipotle sauce, egg, bacon, ham, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and gouda cheese.

Creekstone Farms certified premium black Angus and Spanish chorizo blend topped with special sauce, raw onions and Julienne fries.
Islas Canarias' CUBANCUBE, Miami
Spicy chorizo and beef slider seasoned with three different spicy peppers topped with white onions, fried hash browns, Swiss cheese, homemade frita sauce, all served on a warm Cuban bun.
Joe's Stone Crab, Miami Beach
HOLLER BACK BURGER
Burger with all dat' sauce, white cheddar and Blue Moon foam, dusted applewood bacon powder, on a toasted bun.
