The Frieze Ice Cream Factory is one of those little mom-and-pop ice cream shops that make living (or visiting) a quaint beach town so wonderful -- even if that beach town happens to be less-quaint and more-bustling!
This little shop/ice cream factory is tucked away right off of SoBe's Lincoln Road, ensuring easy ice cream access to those in the know.
The Frieze was named best ice cream parlor by New Times in 2012, and has a loyal following of locals and tourists alike, who flock to the little shop to get their fill
of ice creams and vegan-friendly sorbets in flavors like Grapenuts 'n'
Raisins, sweet cream, chocolate decadence, mamey, and key lime pie.
Until now, the only way to enjoy The Frieze was to come to their shop, or enjoy it at some of the Miami restaurants that serve the dessert like the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Mandarin Oriental Resort, Wynwood Kitchen & Bar, The Standard Hotel and Michy's.

The shop, which has made honest ice cream made without any artificial
additives or preservatives for over two decades, is planning on a
nationwide expansion into the wholesale market, starting with a few
roadshows at local Costcos to test the market.
During these roadshows, The Frieze will offer samples of their dairy-free vegan-friendly sorbets, which are all made at the South Beach location. In addition, special four-packs of the frozen treats will be available for purchase for $14.89 -- which is 50 percent off their regular retail price.
This will help gauge interest for the brand and the success of these roadshows will be a large factor in determining whether Costco will pick up the brand for mass distribution.
The Frieze will sample and sell sorbets throughout the day, from opening until closing at these south Florida Costco stores:
- January 18-20: Costco North Miami (14585 Biscayne Blvd.)
- February 15-17: Costco Davie (1890 South University Dr.)
- March 1-3: Costco Kendall (13450 SW 120th St.)
